Our Commis Chef will prepare meal ingredients for the brigade and assist with various kitchen duties. Our Commis Chef's responsibilities will also include informing the supervisor of malfunctioning or broken kitchen equipment, unpacking, and organising deliveries. You should also ensure that all food items are properly stored in line with food safety requirements.
You also should demonstrate excellent organisational skills and ensure that all duties are completed in a timely manner You should uphold the highest standards and ensure the member experience is always in line with our standards.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Cooking and preparing elements of high-quality dishes
- Assisting other Chefs as and when required
- Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards.
- Preparing meal ingredients, which includes seasoning of different meats as well as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits.
- Preparing salads and sauces as directed by the Chef de Partie.
- Receiving deliveries and verifying that all ordered items have been delivered and are of good quality.
- Taking inventory of restaurant supplies and notifying the supervisor of low or depleted supplies.
- Discarding all expired and spoiled food items stored in the stock rooms, refrigerators, and freezers.
- Performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring that workstations are properly sanitised.
- Plating and presenting meal items as per the Chef de Partie’s instructions.
- Assisting and monitoring stock, including stock rotation, ensuring minimum kitchen wastage
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Stays up to date with current food trends and best practices.
- Must be able to work flexibly including evenings and weekends due to the operational hours of the club.
- Excellent communication skills and comfortable talking to colleagues, senior management, and coming front of house to talk to members.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and hosting.
